Dutch Student Athletes Visit the Faculty
Three days of movement, knowledge sharing, and friendship
Bratislava, 19 June 2025
From 11 to 13 June 2025, our faculty once again came alive with sporting spirit and international cooperation. We had the pleasure of welcoming young athletes from Scalda stichting voor middelbaar beroepsonderwijs en educatie, cluster Sport (CIOS) from the Netherlands. Over the course of three days, the program offered a rich blend of expert lectures, practical demonstrations, and immersive sports experiences.
The program was officially opened by doctoral candidate Mgr. Kristián Kováč, who introduced the activities of the Department of Sports Games, a co-organizer of the event. This was followed by an inspiring lecture delivered by Bc. Denis Lovasz, who shared his insights and experience as a youth football coach at SC Slovan Bratislava.
The academic part of the day concluded with a presentation by university professor Janka Peráčková, who shared the findings of her research on the health risks associated with heading in football—a topic that sparked great interest and a lively discussion among the visiting students.
Following the theoretical sessions, participants moved to the football pitch, where they observed a youth training session led by professor Holienka. The first day concluded with a group viewing of the Romania vs. Italy match at the UEFA Under-21 European Championship.
The second day focused on further observation, as the Dutch guests attended a training session with the U15 youth category, led by coach Igor Bôbik.
The final day of the visit was marked by active participation. The Dutch student athletes conducted a training session for our students, which culminated in a friendly football match between the Slovak and Dutch teams, officiated by dr. Martin Mikulič.
The Department of Sports Games, under the leadership of university professor Pavol Peráček, once again demonstrated that sport is a universal language—one that connects people across cultures and borders.
